Egg Health Coach Heather Kish: My Infertility Story and Why I Help Women TTC

“You have less than a 5% chance of getting pregnant…”
That sentence changed everything.
It was the gut-punch reality my endocrinologist shared with me in my late 30s — and it was the moment I realized something deeper was going on in my body.
If you’re here, I want to say welcome.
And more than that…
I want you to know something immediately:
I understand this journey because I lived it.
Egg Health Coach: Why I Understand This Journey Personally
When My Cycles Started Falling Apart
For most of my life, my menstrual cycles were steady and predictable. But in my mid-thirties, everything changed.
Month after month, my periods became unbearable:
Heavy bleeding
Severe pain
Migraines
Clotting
Vomiting
Missing work
Lying on the bathroom floor in the dark, doubled over
I knew something wasn’t right.
Just after my 37th birthday, I went to a specialist and was diagnosed with multiple fibroids. I underwent a myomectomy, and within weeks, the intense bleeding improved.
But the deeper hormonal imbalance remained.
“Don’t Worry… You Have Less Than a 5% Chance...But"
A year later, my cycles were lighter — but irregular.
I tried birth control briefly, and at a routine visit my doctor asked about children.
I hadn’t been planning for pregnancy yet, so I asked casually:
“If I stop taking the pill, how soon would I need to worry about getting pregnant?”
Her response was immediate:
“Don’t worry. You have less than a 5% chance with the way your levels are right now.”
She was referring to my AMH — a marker often associated with ovarian reserve.
And just like that…the infertility journey began.
Miscarriage, Loss, and the Start of Deeper Questions
I stopped taking the pill in January.
I conceived in February.
But I didn’t know I was pregnant until I miscarried at 10 weeks.
Later that same year, I became pregnant again… and miscarried again.
The heartbreak began stacking.
Testing followed:
Blood work
Genetic screening
Hormone panels
Semen analysis
Endless appointments
It felt like infertility turned my life into a biology class overnight.
Eventually, doctors concluded what so many women over 40 are told:
“My eggs were just old.”
The Reality of Egg Quality After 35
I learned something that shook me:
Egg quality begins declining significantly after 35
After 40, it drops sharply
Miscarriage rates increase as chromosomal abnormalities rise
I was 42.
And my issue wasn’t getting pregnant…It was staying pregnant.
IUI, Another Loss, and the Breaking Point
Because my husband’s testing looked normal, we tried IUI with Clomid.
We saw several follicles.
I conceived.
I thought this was finally it.
And then…
We hit the 10-week mark again.
No heartbeat.
No growth.
Devastation doesn’t even cover it.
One doctor said something that stayed with me:
“You don’t have trouble getting pregnant. You have trouble staying pregnant. We just need one good egg.”
That became the mission.
Discovering Root-Cause Fertility Support
At that point, I became consumed with learning everything about egg quality, inflammation, and hormone disruption.
That’s when I found the work around:
Environmental toxins
Endocrine disruptors
Lifestyle impacts on fertility
Nutrient support for egg health
I began cleaning up my home, my food, my products — all of it.
And one of the most unexpected supports came through acupuncture.
It improved:
My cycle regulation
My sleep
My nervous system
My overall resilience through treatment
IVF, One Normal Embryo, and a Miracle
After four total losses and one failed IUI, we moved into IVF.
We retrieved five eggs.
Three made it to blastocyst stage.
Only one embryo came back genetically normal.
That one embryo became our frozen hope.
On February 15th, 2019, we transferred it.
Ten days later…
Positive pregnancy test.
And I will never forget what the doctor said:
“I know science… but then there is God. This is nothing short of a miracle.”
Our Daughter Was Born — And So Was My Calling
On October 19th, 2019, our daughter was born.
Healthy pregnancy. No complications.
I became a mother at age 44.
But something else was born too:
A calling.
For years, I felt a whisper:
“You need to share this. You need to help other women.”
Because I know how many women feel:
Lost
Unsupported
Unheard
Overwhelmed by IVF decisions
Desperate for answers beyond “just keep trying”
That is why I became an egg health coach and root-cause fertility mentor.
